Work has commenced on a new standard, "Guidelines for Information and Communications Technology Disaster Recovery Services" which is expected to form ISO 27006.

The published scope of the standard (by ISO) is: "This standard specifies the guidelines for the information & communication technology disasterrecovery (ICT DR) services focusing on the desired disaster recovery (DR) facilities and servicescapability. It deals with the provision of fall back and recovery support to an organization‘s informationand communication system, including test, implementation and execution aspects of disasterrecovery"

The new standard will take full cognaisance of the following:
- SS507 Singapore Standards for Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Service Providers
- NFPA 1600 Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity
- ISO 17799
- ISO 20000

Again, this standard is unlikely to appear before the end of 2007.
